  • american cockroach controlAmerican Cockroach: Despite its name, this pest probably came to America on trading ships coming from Africa. Adults range from 1 3/8″ – 2 1/8″ long, and live for almost two years, making this a very noticeable pest. Although sometimes found in residences, they are more often found in commercial kitchens, bakeries, restaurants, etc. and are often in basements, steam tunnels and food preparation areas. In warm weather they may be found in alleyways and yards, and may travel in sewer systems. Sprays, dusts and baits are available for their control, but should be used by professionals who know which materials work best in each infestation circumstance.
  • brown banded cockroach controlBrown Banded Cockroach: This roach gets its name from the pale brown bands that run across the wings of the adult. These are fast running roaches, about 1/2″ long, that will glide readily. They are found throughout structures, but prefer warmer areas. They are frequently found behind edges of wallpaper, behind pictures and draperies, and other high spots, and will deposit their egg capsules under shelves and furniture. A thorough inspection by a trained professional is required to find and treat their hiding places.
  • german cockroach controlGerman Cockroach: This is the most common of all cockroaches and the most hated. In addition to being a general nuisance, this prolific 1/2 – 5/8″ long pest is often associated with passive transmission of a variety of pathogenic organisms. Its distribution is world-wide. Their coloring is light brown, with two dark brown parallel stripes running backwards just behind their heads. They can be found anywhere in a structure, but prefer warm, humid areas. They are nocturnal, and prefer tight places to rest. They can feed on anything that has nutrient value, including soap, glue, toothpaste, starch, sizing, etc. Control often requires multiple applications of sprays, aerosols, dusts and baits, and is best left to the skills of a trained professional.
  • oriental cockroach controlOriental Cockroach: Despite its name, this pest is thought to have originated in North Africa. It has worldwide distribution, and is often called “black beetle”, “waterbug”, or “shad roach”. Ranging in size from 1 – 1 1/4″, this roach has poorly and only partially developed wings, is usually shiny black with brown to reddish areas, and prefers starchy foods. It is a good climber, but is usually found in lower levels of a structure, as well as under rocks, leaf litter and debris outdoors. Exterior sprays and interior baits work well in controlling this pest, especially when administered by a trained professional.
